Miss From A Rose

The Bulls couldn't get it done, surprised? You shouldn't be.

Derek Rose can only carry the team on his back for so long. We saw it against the Pacers and Hawks, as soon as Rose struggles the rest of the team goes down in flames.

The Bulls have no one else to blame but themselves. They were up in the 4th (again), got the ball to their MVP (after a generous charge call) for a would-be-game-winner, that came up a didn't-hit-the-rim-or-backboard-loser.

Boozer and the rest of the Jazz rejects couldn't get any buckets to help Rose, which includes Korver looking completely lost on the court - maybe he still hasn't recovered from being bulldozed by Bron. Rose knew he had to jack up 27 shots.

8-27 fga and 7 TO's?

Is it unfair Rose doesn't receive criticism?

Kobe, LeBRON, Dirk, Nash would be criticized. 8-27 gets Kobe Bryant criticized for not being a team player. That get him called a ball hog instead of a facilitator. I can assure you if LeBRON were to go 8-27 with 7 turnovers the public would be in a frenzy throwing every word and book at him.

My favorite part of last nights game? Rose getting rejected by Wade, Lebron dives on the floor, Haslem on the floor, and Miller coming away with it. Beautiful basketball.
If that happened for your team, you'd love it. But it happened for the heat, so you fucking HATE it.

NB...GAY??

Joakim Noah shouts a Gay Slur

First it was KOBE shouting a slur at a referee that draws the attention of the league and the LGBT community.

The NBA takes action and creates a commercial using one of the NBA's most outstanding humanitarians and collectors of fine African American Art, Grant Hill to clean up Kobe's mess. Hill appears in a commercial with fellow Sun player Jared Dudley explaining not to use the term 'gay' to mean dumb or stupid.

COINCIDENTALLY, the Suns CEO comes out of the closet the same week as the commercial airs, attempting to further spoil the taboo of gays in pro sports.  All too convenient for Stern?

But all the hard work and convenient timing has been erased by Joakim Noah.
After being taken out of the game in the first quarter due to foul trouble, Noah turns to a fan yells what seemed to be "F**king F@g**t" (you know what I'm trying to say).

Oh how I love the NBA. Trying to clean up its act since the Malace at the Palace, drug/gun charges, rape cases, all with ridiculous "NBA Cares" Ads. Give me a fucking break. You can try all you want Stern, but a nice frame won't save this terrible painting.

Tempers will always get the best of athletes in a competitive game.

If the NBA really wanted to start cleaning itself up, it should start with media coverage. Don't give me a close up the guy who just got taken out of the game due to foul trouble, or a confrontation. You're just asking for it.

Thank you Joakim Noah for spoiling Sterns plans,on saving gay-face. Oh... and thanks for having more turn overs than points too.

*** Update ****

Another Sun comes out to help the gay community and this time its STEVE NASH.

See it for yourself

The NBA sure does care...are they going to start shooting commercials for online poker and gun control?

Playoffs Part III - From Chicago

Sorry for the Delay but I was in Chicago for game one of the Eastern Conference Finals.
... Actually I was there to see Wrigley for the first time, and it was awesome.

As far as basketball related all I got was a picture of the outside of United Arena with Jordan, then reduced to watch the game inside a Pizza Joint named Piece.

Don't believe me?

You can't tell but, its windy

I spent toughly 3 dollars and 20 minutes riding a bus from Wicker Park to the Arena just to take a picture of the statue.  Every basketball player needs to take a picture with the statue. Its a right a passage, the emergence of a man from child.

I walked up to the ticket window and asked the guy what tickets were for sale.
"Ehh the only teekets we have left fer sale, are da fo hundred and fifty dahlla ones"
Holy fucking shit.

Took that bus back to Wicker Park and watched the game in the Pizza shop. And it was pretty rad. When Gibson dunked on Wade the place exploded. Then exploded again during the replay. Pizza wasn't too bad either.

Without further adieu...

Playoffs Part III

Mavs - Thunder
Westbrook and Durant against Dirk and company. Youth against the German Shepard. Run-n-gun against the Blitzkrieg. This is it for the Thunder. Dallas showed how deep they were against the Lakers and Thunder don't stand a chance. Did you see game 1? Dirk only missed 3 shots the entire game. 24-24 ft's and 12-15 shooting. But this isn't a blog about Stats, its about HATE.
I HATE THE THUNDER. Yes they're young and exciting, Durant is a baller and so is Westbrook. Harden's beard is fiesty, so naturally people think I'm a fan. And in most cases I would be. But, they this should all be happening in the house that Detlef Shrempf built. And instead its happening in the Oklahoma.
While I was in Dallas for my layover flight, I saw the hottest blonde haired girl walking around the terminal wearing a bright blue OKC shirt. "Wow" I thought "That has to be the hottest girl in Oklahoma, or the hottest OKC fan, or maybe the only fan I've ever seen..."
I had never seen anyone wear any OKC merchandise before. Probably because I live in CA and everyone here wears their Eddie Jones jersey around town. I was stunned, it was my first public OKC fan. OKC does have the best fans in the league but Seattles was great too! The Key Arena was deafening. Shawn Kemp would catch a lob from Payton and roof would explode. I've already written about all of this...
I'm picking Dallas to win in 5 because the Thunder should still be Sonics, and they should still be in Seattle, and they should still have Sasquatch running around...and Because Dirk is filthy nasty good.
America will discover - JJ Barea. A little man that is probably most famous for dating the 2006 Miss Universe, is now getting recognition on the court.
Harden -Can shoo the three well, and brings great energy that I'm certain stems from the beard. Sefolosha is a punk bitch.

Heat - Bulls

Howard to Lakers?

Not so Fast

The season isn't even over yet, and already people are speculating Dwight Howard moving to the Lakers for Andrey Bynum, and Odom.

Allow me to shed some HATE on the situation.

The Dummy Comes With Me

Howard to the Lakers

First of all
Howard's contract isn't up until the end of next season. Odom and Bynum have team options in 2012, and go through 2013.

BUT with that being said...

It appears that Howard's days in Orlando are done after being knocked out first round. Therefore, the Magic would look to move him before his contract expires so they get something in return.
For example:
-The Suns allowed Stoudemires contract to expire, and the Knicks got him. The Suns got nothing. (Yes I'm calling Childress, and Hakim Warik nothing)
-The Nuggets knew Carmelo wanted out, and they traded him before his contract expired. They got decent players in return and actually made the playoffs. The Suns did not.

So who gets dealt in the Orlando - LA situation?
Laker fans want Odom and Bynum to go, and get Howard in return.

A few issues with this are:
Bynum is injury prone, and Odom is on the downside of his career. Basically there isn't a lot of upside for the Magic here, besides getting SOMETHING for Howard. Some say offer Artest - Laker fans hated Artest about a 7/8 of the season. I doubt anyone wants him.
Plus, Odom and Bynum basically embarrassed everyone game 4 against the Mavs. I'm sure the Magic would love to have those two...

Kobe is great, but he' slowing. He can't even practice with his team because he's so banged up. If Howard came to the Lakers he'd be playing with a 17 and 1 Kobe. This doesn't sound enticing either. Not compared to playing with Darin Williams, or Cp3.

Also, Howard doesn't make the max contract. He makes around 17 million a year, about one million more then Bynum.  If you think the two are equals on the court, you're mentally challenged. Which makes me think Howard may play this thing out to become a free agent. Maybe dick the Magic around so that the contract expires, then he finds his 20 million some where around the league. You know he wants it. Maybe the Lakers could throw him that money at the end of 2012. But that's a lot of "ifs".
** The new Collective Bargaining Agreement could cancel this all out

This wouldn't even fix the Lakers 'problem'. The Lakers problem right now is speed and youth. The bench that was productive earlier in the season basically disappeared near the end. The Lakers need more then one person that can dunk the basketball. Maybe trading Bynum/Odom for perimeter shooting and youth would be better then Howard.

AND the Lakers just lost Phil Jackson. The Last time the Lakers had a different coach they ran him out of the building (remember Tomjanovich?)

Basically what the Laker fans are holding on to is that Howard was caught somewhere saying he would like to go the Lakers. But there's a lot stacked against them. If it came down to nice weather, or winning, I think Howard chooses winning.

Here's another thing I've stumbled upon.
If the Magic try to deal Howard next season, they're going to try to package him with Gilbert Arenas' $20 million contract. Which is roughly 40 mil of open space. And there's few teams that could afford that...

Howard to the Nets

Aw Dwight would fit PERFECTLLYYY

A team that does have a ton of space during next season are the NETs.

Deron Williams makes 17 mil, and behind him is Travis Outlaw with 7 mil. The Nets have a dominate big man in Lopez, so it would be the twin tower show with a lot of cash. Two big man can't work? Pau and Bynum? Perkins and Garnett? Duncan and Robinson?

This meets a few of Howard's demands, he gets a ton of money, he gets to play on a young team with a good (notice I didn't say great) point guard, and the Nets are moving to Brooklyn where Howard will get his "big market" location.

The Nets Russian owner, Prokhorov is determined to win, and he has the wallet to do so. And maybe Jay-Z entices Howard. The Nets are also likely to get a lottery pick next year, and again the Nets have money to sign other good surrounding players. This team is very young, and could be very good for years to come.

There is a good chance Howard ends up here.

Howard to the Knicks

Now, if the Lakers think they can trade a punk ass Bynum and Odom for Howard, then an Amar'e Stoudemire for Howard isn't very unlikely either.

Orlando already has a good point guard in Nelson, and good three point shooters. It would also be like Phoenix but with Jameer instead of Nash. The Magic would take on a great PF in his prime, and not an injury prone Bynum, or a Kardashian.

The Knicks will get Howard and might have enough left over to sign CP3. That's because Billup's contract ends the same time as Cp3's. Cp3 would have to take around a 2 million dollar pay cut, but he'd be on a great team, and would make the money up with endorsements (Not including his deodorant commercials). This would mean Melo, Howard, and CP3 on the same team, and automatic title contenders. This could be annulled if the Magic want to deal Arenas with Howard. But the Knicks would still have a decent chance of getting Howard, much more then LA.

Back to LA (Since there where most think hes going)

The biggest problem with LA are the parts. Why would Orlando take Bynum, and Odom when they could have Amar'e? Why would Howard play with an aging Kobe and Pau when he could play with Deron Williams, or Melo, or CP3?

It makes contractual sense! The numbers fit!

That's true.. but then Milwaukee could pick up Howard because Redd's contract finally expired.
Sacramento's Dalembert's contract finally expired too..and they're already 23 million BELOW the salary cap for next year. He could come to Sacramento and be the MAN.

The CBA could extinguish all this talk. Or it could accelerate it. Players, agents, and teams could want all of this to happen before the 7-800 million dollar pay cut, and lock out next season. In fact, this is the reason why its probably going to be a shit show.

I realize I didn't do much hating during this, so let me end on this note.
I hope the Lakers do get Howard. I hope he becomes the team leader. I hope the Lakers get an 18 year Italian black kid from Philly. I hope that kid throws his teammates under the bus, takes too many shots, causes coaches to quit, and sexually assaults a girl in Denver. Howard ends up leaving, and the Lakers playoff chances are crushed for years.

But that's crazy... that would never happen...

Pau's to Blame

What utter Bullshit
Looks like all the unemployed in LA won't be getting their championship parade this year..

The Lakers have been swept against the Mavs and all the spoiled Laker fans are pointing the finger at Pau Gasol.

I love the Lakers...making me money..

They're blaming the guy who brought them 3 consecutive finals appearances. Pau should've been the finals MVP last year. Kobe shoots 6-24 in the deciding game 7 and he gets the MVP? Give me a fucking break.

How bout Kobe can't get his team to the playoffs, then he can't get to the second round, The Suns knock them out every year. Kwame Brown gets boo'd off the court. Then the Grizzlies gift Pau Gasol. Lakers are contenders, then Champions.

How bout all you Laker fans stop regurgitating everything you fucking hear on ESPN and talk radio. Watch the game yourself and realize the Lakers look old, tired, the bench isn't doing shit, Fisher would miss the ocean if standing on the shore, Odom is looking overrated...and heartless/gutless

All season the Lakers have looked tired and bored. They claimed there was a "switch". They found it after the All-Star game (until the Heat smashed them, and made them look old) And the Lakers have not found the Switch again. And they got swept because of it.

What do the Lakers do now? They might be able to make a small run with the same line up, but they'll keep losing in the playoffs to more athletic teams. Partially because the playoffs are a different game then the regular season. More physical teams prevail in the playoffs. The games are tougher,  and faster. The Fisher flops may work in the regular season, but they wont in the post-season.

Do the Lakers need younger players? Get rid of Luke, Fisher, Barnes, Blake, and Bynum? Try to get some speed so they don't burned by every speedy point guard in the game? What about coaching? Maybe Kobe should be both coach and player at this point.

Here are some of my favorite texts from Laker fans during Game 4:

"Bynum for Howard"
"Fisher cannot come to double anyone. He can't even cover his own guy"
"But its Peja..he doesn't move."
"Glass half full: We have won 2 years in a row..
Glass half empty: Total teardown and Lakers arnt relevant for years. reality?"

"Good night"

Anyway don't blame Pau Gasol. He did more for this team in the last 3 years then anyone else has. The Lakers have a lot more issues. Its easy to point the blame at one gentleman. Especially one gentleman that is more well-spoken the anyone else on the team (with English being his second language).

**Update**

Bynum and Odom are punk bitches.
"One of the most bush-league things I've ever seen" Psahahaha. Surprised? You shouldn't be. He did the same thing against Michael Beasley earlier in the year.
The score is 100 -68 and you check the smallest guy on the court? Real classy Laker fans.
Embarrassing.

Fun..da..mentals??..

The biggest surprise of the playoffs is The Grizzlies.

They beat the Spurs?!! How did they do that?!

The Grizz are winning with a dominating superstar? Wait.. who do they give the ball to?

You mean, they can't just dump it down to Garnett? Or pass it to Kobe or Lebron? They don't have CP3 to make all the plays?

HOW ARE THEY WINNING?

Passing the ball? Jump shots? Boxing out? Hustle? Fundamentals? No... That can't be right..NBA teams don't win like that... do they?

I'm so confused..

Playoffs: Part II

First round has come and gone, and I hate to admit it, but it was pretty..pretttyyy. pretty good. Now for the second round.

It means: "Bulls lose second round"**

Bulls - Hawks
I'm going to stand by my original prediction: Bulls out second round. I predict this for a few reasons.
One: To piss off Charles
Two: To piss off Amit
My boy Joe Johnson will show that hes worth 75% of that contract. Josh Smith will prove hes more then just a dunker. Boozer will prove he does not like the post season, and Derek Rose's back might break trying to carry this overrated team.
Hawks in 7
America will notice: Jeff Teague, I actually like this more then Heinrich playing because hes faster and can play (better) defense on DRose then the Kirk. Boozer will make Chicago wish they saved their money.

Grizzlies - Thunder
Normally this match up would be the most exciting in the second round. But instead you got the the Heat and Celtics, The Mav's beating the Lakers, and the Hawks winning at home. I like Z-bo, grabbing Z-bounds, dropping Z-bombs, but I think this is it for the Grizz. This is when the Perkins trade for the Thunder really shows its value.
Thunder in 6
America will notice: Zach Randolph. A once Clipper is now the best low post presence in the playoffs. Harden. Beard.

Heat - Celtics
Heat in 5

Mavs - Lakers
This really hard. You have one team that's infamous for choking in the playoffs, and another that's infamous for not wanting to play hard. "The Switch" vs "The Choke". Both teams have slow point guards (though Kidd is a hall-of-famer and Fisher is not), both seem to be struggling offensively, Dallas sucks on the road, and the Lakers are sucking in the clutch. The biggest difference of this series will be The Lakers size (again). They will get more offensive rebounds and second chance points. So a lot of this is up to Tyson Chandler, Dirk, Pau, Bynum. Damnit, I'm talking in circles. YA KNOW WHAT. I'm said the Lakers would fall in to the three seed, they didn't...but they almost did, and should have if it weren't for a god damn terrible Sacramento King's team. This Laker team has annoyed me all season with the Christmas Day game, and the "switch". Dallas wins.
Dallas will win the series and it will send the Lakers into a downward spiral. Kobe will go off on his teammates, claiming he needs more help, and can't do it all. Claiming that his big men are soft, and need to be more physical to win. He will bad talk Bynum, will set up a huge off-season transaction of Dwight Howard... Pau, Kobe, Dwight Howard?... maybe the Lakers should win..
Mavs in 6
America will notice: Game faces. Dirks tongue sticking out the side of his mouth vs Kobe's under bite scowl thing..

** I kind of regret using that picture..

Video of the Weak

In Honor of the Spurs getting knocked out of the playoffs first round. And only the second #1 seed to be knocked out by an 8 seed during the 7 game series started.. I want to post this video...

Tim Duncan is most famous for his face of Disbelief. But we get a new face of TIMMY. And that is, the face of Disgust!
