| forget the past 6 months |
I woke up Saturday morning to began watching a TERRIFIC Bulls - Pacers. It was nothing I've seen since this time last year. It made me furious about the past 6 months.
No where in the past 6 months did I see teams play this hard, and this constant. 6 months of watching teams play half-ass til the fourth quarter. 6 months!
The only two match-ups throughout the regular season the NBA that enticed everyone to watch were opening day, and Christmas day. Don't get me start about Christmas day, but opening day was interesting, and entertaining.
So back to Playoffs. They're here, and there have already been a few upsets. Lakers, and Spurs both lost. The Bulls and Mavs were lucky to escape with wins.
Allow me to go down the list.
Spurs - Grizzlies
The playoffs will show off: How old the Spurs really are, and how good of a Coach Popavich is.
The Grizzlies will show grit, and will scrap for every position. Shane Battier will heat corner threes, and Marc will prove who has the better beard between him and Pau.
The Grizz took game one, but once Ginobli comes back I see the spurs taking it in 6.
America will be introduced to: Zach Randolph, and Gary Neal.
Lakers - Hornets
ZZZZZZ!!
CP3 doing whatever he wants whenever he wants. Of course, thats because Fisher wears 5 lb shoes.
With West already gone, and a back-up center turning his ankle today (If you can't beat'em, BEAT'EM). I got the Lakers' size being too much for the bankrupt Hornets and taking this one in 6.
America will be introduced to: Chris Paul (Hes been gone for a while, America forgets quickly), Trey Johnson - i love these kids who work their asses off in D-league then get called up. He gets called up and immediately gets playtime in the Playoffs? Going from Bakersfield to the playoffs has to be like going from Kristie Alley to Scarlette Johanson.
Nuggets - Thunder
I don't have too much to say about this besides: Smash. There's gana be a ton of throwdowns in this series. I got Kendrick Perkins getting yammed on 20 times before the end of the series. This probably the most entertaining series, and no one will watch it. I got the Thunder in 6 close ones.
America will be introduced to: Gallanari - New Yorkers were the only ones who knew who this guy was. He was overshadowed during the Melo trade, but you'll see him hit 3's and take it strong to the hoop. Thunder Crowd - This crowd is something else. The closest you'll get to a college atmosphere in the NBA. Everyone is wearing those bright blue shirts, waving those white rags, and goes nuts over every shot. I'm still pissed about Seattle losing their team, but the crowd in OKC should make Seattle proud.
Dallas - Portland
The 'experts' upset pick. Experts give me a fucking break. Anyone who's been watching half a season of basketball could've picked that. You got the Mav's who choke it up every season, and the Blazers who's athleticism give the Lakers a rough time every game. With that being said.. I'm a little torn on this one. But I'm gana say the Blazers win in 7.
America will be introduced to: JJ Barea - Most famous for dating the 2006 Miss Universe, the guy isn't a bad back up behind Jason Kidd either. LeMarcus Aldridge - A HUGE All-Star snub. LA is one of the premiere power fowards in the league, and Andre Miller loves to throw lobs to him. He will dunk on Dirk 3 times before the end of the series.
THE EAST
Bulls - Pacers
I don't know if I should call the Bulls, The Bulls, or D Rose and a Bunch of god damn scubs. Everyone this site knows I love Lebron, but the MVP is the most important player towards a team. And D Rose proved that during game one. Because, if that guy doesn't have a stellar game one, then they lose to the 8th seed. He shot 21 free throws and ended with 39 points. I think theres a lot of room for concern for Bull fans. As soon as there's a hiccup in D Rose's game, the game is lost. Rose had an insane evening and they were down the entire game till the final minute. Psycho T went ape-shit and showed everyone in Chicago how bad Boozer is during the Playoffs. I got the Bulls in 5.
America will be introduced to: Danny Granger - The best player on the Pacers and one of the best in the league. A great basketball body and nasty jumper. CJ Watson - The man I feel most bad about in the league. He most come off the bench of D Rose. America will probably hate this guy before the end of the Playoffs. Rose comes out and Watson comes in, talk about a swing in talent.
Heat - 76ers
Heat in 4
Hawks - Magic
Probably the worst series in the playoffs. Well actually, the Philly Miami series is terrible, but at least you get the pleasure of watching the best basketball player in the Universe.
The Magic and Hawks is just bad. There's nothing appealing about this series besides of knowing who the Bulls will face next. I've always liked Josh Smith and Joe Johnson, and part of me wants them to beat the Magic. Partly because I feel the Magic are the Mavs of the East. Buttt... Who will have more dunks, Josh Smith or Dwight Howard? Magic in 7.
Celtics - Knicks
The run n' gun system that hasn't exactly worked out for D'antoni in the playoffs IS BACK. Except this time you don't have Nash and Amare, you got melo and Amare. And the first game went to the Celtics on a heroic Allen 3. This is a pretty tough match up for both teams. I feel you got the geezers on the C's that want to run with the Knicks but might have a stroke in the process. The Knicks who don't know how to play D-E-F E-N S-E. It's in the DICTIONARY! I'm gana go with the Celtics in 6.
America will be introduced to: Jeff Green? and Renaldo Balkman?
The Playoffs have been 10 times better then last years, and its only been the first game. The playoffs last year were fucking terrible. FUCKING TERRIBLE. The only good series was the Suns and Lakers. LeBron and C's could've been better without the Delonte West Scandal. I don't talk about mama's.
